I'm helping someone look for a romance book. She's looking for the title/author of a romance book set in modern day USA and based in a small rural town or community. The heroine was a teacher in her late twenties and for some reason was demoted to an office position in the school in which she worked. She was a victim of a rape and the perpetrator resided in the same town as the female lead. The hero of the novel was a drfiter and a builder/handyman by trade. He was in his early/mid thirties. I think towards the end of the novel he was in the process of building a home on land that he had purchased. Although the female lead was very fearful of men, the two main characters did eventually fall into a romantic relationship. The female character would have been in her late twenties while the male character would have been in his early/mid thirties. Neither characters had children. I do remember a scene in the novel where the lead male character was in the female characters bathroom washing up after a hard days work. He opens the bathroom cabinet in search of something but instead finds a box of birth control pills. He is quite overcome with sadness, after all, he knows about her tragic past. Finding the contraceptives in her bathroom somehow stirred up some protective and emotional feelings in him.

I am hoping that someone can help me. I have been trying to remember the title/author of a book I read several years ago. I believe it was set in the west. He owned a farm or ranch and had a young daughter daughter. She was some sort of nanny or governess. The daughter had "issues" because she thought her Papa blamed her for his being ugly. He had "issues" because he blamed himself. The daughter had accicentally shot him in the face causing him to wear an eyepatch.

The heroine is a singer. Her grandfather thinking he was being helpful, sold her contract to the heroine's ex-husband. The ex is jealous, thinking that she is involved with another man and makes sure that she ends up working on holidays and birthdays. He's thinking that he's keeping her away from a lover. Instead, he is keeping her away from their son. He doesn't know about the boy. Before the divorce was final he went to see her and they slept together. He never checked to see if there were any ramifications to that night. I don't remember why they got divorced. Her contract is almost over and she plans to retire to spend time with her son. In the end, he finds out about the son -- the grandfather brings him to her last concert.

The novel is about a veterinarian in a small town who has a mentor relationship with a young girl.
The girl's father is a comic strip artist. The heroine is engaged to an abusive man. There are also
a few side stories such as in the girl's school there is talk of banning some books that have sexual
scenes, as well as a romance between the school librarian and someone else who works at the school.

I read this book years ago, its mill and boon, and its about a woman who
is hired by the male character's mother to help her son find a wife. the
female character is quirky but she is engaged to someone else. I remember
her meeting the mother in a café to discuss things. its set around winter
time because one scene they kiss on under the mistletoe.
the mother had this son first and she remarried and has other sons. any
ideas?

The book would most likely have been a Zebra *Heartfire* romance, or at
least Zebra. I would guess at it being published somewhere
between 1985 and 1993. The book was a pirate historical, same era as the Pirates of the Carribean I
would guess. It featured a saucy heroine with golden-blonde hair who somehow
ends up on a pirate ship with a sexy, swashbuckling captain, who (of course)
seduces her. She tries to escape several times, without success, and I
cannot remember much on the ending/resolution. (She may have been a
duchess/governor's daughter/etc. and he may have secretly been a
"respectable gent" who was just masquerading as a pirate). Now here's the
ray of sunshine: I remember that the pirate-captain's nickname for the saucy
gal was "Dovetail." He called her Dovetail, and I recall a scene where they
are on land (most of story takes place on the boat somewhere) and she
escapes, he chases her down and she falls/skids down an embankment, cuts her
shoulder up on some rocks and a rather odd love scene ensues.

I am looking for a book, actually a series of historical romances that I
read in the 80's. They centred around a young woman who rode a black
stallion and had a black dog? or a raven. She disguised her self as a boy
at some point in the story. It was set in Ireland or Scotland and the name
temptest or storm or something similar rings a bell.

I am looking for the title of a book I read in the 1990's. It is a
historical set in Jamaica or some other tropical island. From what I can
recall the heroine is a young blonde woman who marries a much older silver
haired gentleman. Her husband has a young man living with him whom he
treats like a son. The younger man is black haired and dislikes that the
heroine married his father figure because he lusts after her himself. The
older husband dies because of some potion he takes to keep his young wife
satisfied in the bedroom. The potion I think was provided by the older
man's ex-mistress who is a native of the island. Of course the young man
blames the heroine for the death, all the while fighting his desire for
her. At first I believed it to be a Virginia Henly book, but after a number
searches I haven't found it. Thanks for any help you can give me!

I read a book in 1989, an historical romance (possibly silhouette
desire?).
Think it was set in england during napoleons era, and the main character
was a woman named kenna/kendra? and I think she had a twin brother. Her
brother and his best friend are spys for england, and kenra gets involved
somehow as well. She ends up falling in love with the brothers friend,
possibly his name is nicholas or alexander. She may even marry this man for
a specific reason as she gets pregnant, but miscarries his child.

I am trying to find a book and author that has the following plot, a school pricinpal/owner hosts a charity auction to raise funds for the school. A former male student purchases a date with the principal (on a bet) for a huge amount of money, and the date end up being a trip to the Caribean or somewhere warm. During the trip they become lovers and then she finds out about the bet, that he is dyslexic, and her mother blackmailed his father to pass him and to support the school.
I read the book a couple years ago and haven't been able to find it since but at the time it was relatively new.

It’s a Victorian. The heroine was living in a Scottish castle that had just been inherited by an American railroad magnate. She tries to scare him off back to the US but they fall in love. I do remember the author bio mentions she’s descended from Robert the Bruce. Help!

I sell on-line and someone asked me the title or author of a book about two sisters. One is promised to be the bride of some noble man. The sisters exchange identities when the promised one does not want to wed. When the one that marries dies at childbirth, the doctor mentions the patients name and at that point the husband finds out he was tricked into marrying the wrong sister. The one he didn't marry is the one he wanted. Do you have any idea the title or author?

The over-seer of the estate suggest that she not sail the ship herself and hires a ship captain and crew to sail the ship and her to the Americas to be with her aunt also her grandmother lives near the aunt. While on route to the Americas some how her Maid dies and she has no one to vouch for her so she must marry the ships captain. She doesn't want her new husband to know that she has more ships then the one he is sailing or know that she can sail. When they get to her Aunts they speak nothing of the marriage and she finds out her cousin is suppose to marry her now husband. She decides to Pirate her husband. Hopping to buy her ship back once he is broke. When pirating her husband I think she goes by the name Kat and her grandmother helps her die her hair black, her natural hair color is red. She only pirates her husband. I hope this is enough information. I so want to read it again. I am looking for the title and author of a books I started but never got to finish.
It starts as the woman is old and retelling her story. It’s a story about Irish immigrants who are forced to live in a poor town owned and run by their boss and owner of the mine where they work. One of the men has a daughter who is very high spirited and who secretly marries and gets pregnant by one of the other workers. Her husband is killed and to get revenge she gets a job in the owner’s house, seduces his son and ingratiates herself into his family and trust. The boss’s wife has a nervous condition and is bedridden most of the time, the son is nothing like his father and really doesn’t deserve to be a pawn in her game and the boss is a terrible man who cares for no one it seems. I only know that the author is a woman and that the cover of the book is white with a woman’s picture on it. It is quite a long book and I would really like to find it so I can finish it and see what happens.

I read this harlequin book once about a businessman wanting a wife I think and he was either twin or a triplet. She could never tell the brothers apart until near the end of the book when she pushed past the other brother (s) to get to him with out thinking about it. If you can please help with the name of this book I would like to read it again.

I read this book a long time ago. Any how the Lead
female is a romance book author, her Friend/
publisher, sets her up with some kind of male gigolo,
because I think she needs new ideas for her book, so
what better way. She' supposed to meet him at the
Hotel Bar, but ends up mistakenly going to the room
with another man. All goes well, and they will meet
again, until she speaks with friend and finds out she
was with wrong guy. When she meets him again she
leaves him naked and tied-up in hotel bed. They meet
up again when they have to work on something together.

I desperately need help to find a book I read at least 8 years ago. I believe it was a Harlequin Presents title, not sure though. The hero and heroine were married and he is very much a workaholic. She finds out she is pregnant but doesn't tell the hero because he told her that he does not want to start a family yet for fear it would interfere with rising in his job. She leaves him and he doesn't know why and cannot find her. They run into each other again after she delivers a flower arrangement to his office building. She had a baby boy I think. Anyway, the heroine had seen the hero's picture in the newspaper announcing his engagement which she thinks is odd since they are still married. The newspaper is wrong, the hero finds out about his son and makes her come back to him. He realizes at the end, after he misses a date with his wife, that his family is more important than being the top person at his job. And then they lived HEA. Please help.

I am looking for a book I read in high school. It was about two brothers who both fall in love with the same girl. One offers security while the other is the one she truly loves. The second brother forces the girl he loves to marry his brother because he knows that is what will be best for her. Years later, after the husband dies, their children reunite the first brother with the girl. I hope you can find it.

BOOK 1: the hero is a very old vampire (who is an assassin) and the heroine is a human assassin. The book starts with her boss telling her she is being assigned a partner (the hero) because she takes too many chances. I remember they go to Florida for their 1st job. They are to kill a very wealthy man, who works for the villain. The heroine meets a guy (who's a PI and childhood friend of the wife) at a party on the intended victim's house.
BOOK 2: They go to Texas to a carnival. There are some religious fanatics. They have an rv.
BOOK 3: There is a traitor in her brother's group and they have to find him/her.
The villain, flyes around the world in a plane, so no one can get close to him.
They have 3 other people who help (1) a nerd who makes incredible weapons, (2) a physic woman who has a book with occult info on the guys, (3) the PI from the 1st book (who thinks he is in love with the heroine).
The heroine has a twin brother. She, her fiance, her brother, and his wife were part of a group who hunted vampires. The vampires attacked the house they stayed and and kill everyone. They turned the wife into a vampire and the heroine had to kill her. A being (angel?) brought her and her brother back to life to work for him.

I have tried to find a romance novel I think from the late 1980's early 1990's about a married journalist who is assigned to do a story on a Hollywood actress and they have an affair. The actress is lonely, she makes appearences and pulls her hair back tight so there are no wrinkles, she's into kinky sex and seduces this journalist. She comes to rely on him and he enjoys the "Hollywood" lifestyle and attention. I think at one point his picture is taken with the actress for a primire movie and his wife sees it. It was a great romance with a touch of erotica.

I'm pretty sure that the main characters names are Sin and Cathy. Cathy had been through a horrible relationship, but her sister introduces her to Sin. The relationship progresses and they get married but she figures out that her father hired him for some reason. I know that the cover has a blonde on it and a guy (I'm pretty sure that he has a mustache) and they are on a boat.

It is about a lady(sorry, don't remember her name.) who teams up with a half Native American and half White I believe he is a cop of some sort, and she is looking a for her sister who ends up at a inn as a waitress. The inn owner name I think was Bill Cassidy, and this waitress is pregnant, thinking that she will get fired she lies to the owner but he already knows because at one point he asks her how long she has been sick. The lady who is looking for her, has a fiance and he likes messing around with other girls. During their journey the cop tells the fiance that he is diseased because of his rashes and the fiance says that "it comes and goes." They find a baby in an abandoned house and even though this lady cannot breast feed, she tries, to calm the child down. The sister ends up marrying the inn keeper/owner because he kinda falls in love with her and I think this guy was average looking but he is a big guy. He knocked some guys down because they tried to take advantage of the waitress. The lady and the cop find two dead bodies in a house and one of them was the guy who was suppose to marry the waitress/her sister.

I read this book years ago and haven't been able to find it since. A Wall Street broker takes a vacation to an island and meets a woman he falls for. She has a secret - she used to be this famous broker on Wall Street but dropped everything and left for paradise when she had a health scare. He gets mad since she left her obligations unfinished and they part on a bad note. She goes back to NY to find him and I think she has another heart attack or almost has one. I keep thinking her name was something like H.M. Summerset. She went by initials on Wall Street which is why he doesn't recognize her name on the island.

I am looking for the name of a harlequinn romance from a long time ago. The story takes place in Egypt I think. The woman in the story meets the man coming out of a store. He picks her up and swings her around. Then when she goes to work she finds out that this same man has taken her father's place in the company she works for.
He ends up marrying her and taking her out in the desert while he and a woman with a husband in a wheelchair sets a trap at the office.
I know that the book cover was brown and the woman on the front had blonde hair and i think the word THOU is in the title.

A young lady who is a teacher, has been taken in by her dead father's business partners family, mother and son. I think the business was forestry or wood (lumber) oriented. She has complicated relationship with the son who has inherited the business. She finds a job as a teacher, befriends a male teacher. She moves into her own place. Son is jealous and feels threatened. She drove a old junky car that breaks down. He tries to buy her a new one. Please Help.
